As the digitalisation of business blurs the line between the physical and digital world it allows us to integrate information about people, business and things. This has presented a terminology and definition challenge for the architecture domain as new areas of data interoperability are required. Though it was a few years ago that Gartner presented this research piece it is still relevant as it offers a comprehensive yet comprehensible approach to the matter.
